Including loquat, mango, litchi, longan, pomegranate, coconut, citrus, apple, pear, plum, persimmon, jujube, chestnut, walnut and other fruit trees, as well as garden flowers and plants such as Taiwan Acacia, poplar and Robinia pseudoacacia.
Damage characteristics of loquat coir moth:
The larvae bite the leaves, the first instar larvae eat the mesophyll residual epidermis, and the old larvae bite the leaves into holes or notches.
Living habits of loquat coir moth:
Male and female adults are heteromorphic. Female adults are wingless, 9 ~ 16mm long, yellowish white to yellowish brown, maggot like. The male adult has wings, the front and rear wings are transparent, the body length is 8 ~ 11 mm, the wing spread is 18 ~ 20 mm, the body is light brown, and there are dense white long hairs. The larva is light brown, with dark spots on its ventral back. The old mature larva is about 30 mm long. The coir rainbag is gray white, long conical, tight silk, and there is no adhesion of branches and leaves on the surface.
The insect occurs once a year and overwinters in the protective capsule with its young larvae. The larvae begin to move and harm when loquat buds and leaves the next spring. 5. Mature larvae pupate in June and adults appear in June and July. The female adult remains in the capsule and releases sex pheromones to induce the male moth to copulate. During copulation, the male moth extends its abdomen into the capsule. The female adult lays eggs in the capsule. After laying eggs, the female adult shrinks gradually, and finally climbs out of the capsule and falls to the ground to die. The male moth is more active and phototaxis. After hatching, the larvae stay in the female sac for 1 ~ 2 days, bite the egg shell and climb out. Later, they spit silk and knot the capsule to protect themselves, and then feed. The capsule can increase with the increase of insect age. The larvae move, feed and carry the capsule. The common name of "debt avoiding moth" comes from this. There are many kinds of natural enemies, such as Apodemus agrarius.
Control methods of loquat coir moth:
Under the premise of paying attention to the protection and utilization of natural enemies, the comprehensive control measures of artificial control, physical control and chemical control should be taken. Pay attention to the following links:
(1) Pay attention to protecting and utilizing natural enemies. The protective bag of coir coir moth is small and many, so it is difficult to remove it manually. Some leaves with more protective bags can be picked according to the actual situation, and placed in the parasitic wasp protector to let the parasitic wasps in the protective bag emerge and fly back to the park; According to the actual activities of natural enemies, coordinate the relationship between chemical control and biological control.
(2) Catch the young larvae at the stage of spot occurrence and spray them in time for control. At the initial stage, organophosphorus pesticides can be selected (1000 times of 80% dichlorvos or 90% trichlorfon crystal solution, or 1000 times of 50% phoxim, fenitrothion or 50% malathion emulsion); In the later stage (10 ~ 15 days before the fruit expands to near maturity), pyrethroid pesticides (2.5% diprotoxin EC, 20% fenvalerate EC, or 10% permethrin EC 6000 ~ 8000 times) can be used once or twice, once every 7 ~ 15 days. Pay attention to spraying evenly and enough.
